On Sunday, June 29, foreign media correspondents visited sections of Evin Prison that were struck in the Zionist regime’s terrorist assault.
Journalists from various international outlets including Reuters, Associated Press, Russia Today (RT Arabic), Al Arabiya, Al Jazeera, CCTV, and Anadolu Agency were present for the visit.
In a report titled "Anadolu Documents the Damage from Israel’s Attack on Tehran’s Evin Prison", Anadolu covered the visit in detail.
The report stated: "On June 23 (Tir 2 in the Persian calendar), one day before the ceasefire, this prison was targeted in an Israeli airstrike. An Anadolu team on-site captured images of the extensive destruction."
The Turkish outlet added that the prison's administrative building, hospital, prosecutor’s office, and visitation hall were targeted, with the administrative building being particularly heavily damaged.
According to Anadolu’s report, inside the administrative building, furniture and documents were seen torn and scattered, and books from the library—including copies of the Holy Qur’an—were damaged.
Anadolu emphasized: "Although the damage to the prison hospital appeared less severe than that to the administrative building, the destruction in the hospital was still serious and significant."
Regarding the hospital damage, the report noted: "The hospital’s exterior was partially damaged, with windows shattered. Clinic rooms suffered heavy destruction, and stretchers and medical equipment became unusable."
Stressing that the attack by the Zionist regime occurred during visitation hours, Anadolu added: "The public visitation hall, which was targeted in the attack, also sustained serious damage, and a number of inmates and detainees, along with their families, were either killed or injured."
Anadolu further noted that the building housing the visitation hall was severely damaged in the strike, adding: "Some nearby buildings and vehicles around the prison were also affected by the attack."
