The Vice President of the Judiciary for International Affairs and the Secretary General of the High Council for Human Rights announced the holding of the 8th Islamic Human Rights Award Ceremony in Tehran.
 

HCHR_Kazem Gharibabadi", The Vice President of the Judiciary for International Affairs and the Secretary General of the High Council for Human Rights of the Islamic Republic of Iran, referring to the designation of August 5th as the Day of Islamic Human Rights and Human Dignity by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in 2007, stated: “The 8th Islamic Human Rights Award Ceremony will be held on Sunday with the presence of the Honorable Head of the Judiciary and military and country officials as well as ambassadors of Islamic countries residing in Tehran” .

Gharibabadi added: “The Islamic Human Rights Award is an international award, which is given to the victims of human rights violations or the supporters and defenders of human rights”.
Regarding the 8th Islamic Human Rights Award Ceremony, he said: “This year, we received 42 candidates from almost 17 countries and considered them in the Committee for Islamic Human Rights and Human Dignity Award. In the end, 6 people were elected to receive the Award and 3 people were elected to be honored.

The Secretary General of the High Council for Human Rights announced the theme of this year's award as “Defending the oppressed people of Palestine, the Axis of Resistance and confronting the crimes of the Zionist regime.”
