The Vice President of the Judiciary for International Affairs and the Secretary General of the High Council for Human Rights of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in a meeting with the Norway ambassador in Iran, criticized the dual approach of Western countries and the United States towards human rights.
HCHR_Kazem Gharibabadi, The Vice President of the Judiciary for International Affairs and the Secretary General of the High Council for Human Rights, during the meeting with "Sigvald Tomin Hauge", the ambassador of Norway, stated: “These days, we are witnessing the situation of Gaza, on one hand, and what is happening in the universities of European countries and the United States, on the other hand”.
Gharibabadi clarified: “The excessive use of force against university students and professors and the arrest of about 3,000 students and university professors so far, not because of protesting against the internal policies of the country, but to show the support for the innocent Palestinian people in Gaza, is gross violation of human rights and a massive suppression of freedom of expression”.
He further emphasized: “With these situation in the U.S. universities and in Gaza, the United States still claims human rights and is trying to provide other countries with solutions, preaching them about human rights”.
