HCHR_Kazem Gharibabadi, the Vice President of the Judiciary for International Affairs and the Secretary-General of the High Council for Human Rights, at the meeting of the Human Rights Council in Geneva on March 28, noting that the so-called fact-finding committee was created as a result of lobbying and political bribery of some western countries, and its report was also under the pressure of these countries, stated: “The main role in this political campaign is played by the German government, the same country that equipped Saddam's regime with chemical weapons of mass destruction, and as a result of using these weapons, more than 13,000 Iranian citizens were martyred and more than 100 thousand people were also injured”.
He stated that countries that claim human rights, such as the United States, Germany, the U.K., France, Canada, etc., have taken a human rights pose on the pretext of the death of an Iranian citizen, and introduced themselves as the supporter of women and Iranian children by creating the political mechanism of fact-finding mission, while they have seriously violated the rights of tens of millions of Iranians by issuing and implementing cruel and illegal unilateral sanctions, and remaining silent in the face of the killing of more than 103 thousand innocent people and the complete destruction of hundreds of thousands of buildings in the Gaza Strip by the occupation regime of Al-Quds and are unable to take any action.
The Vice President of the Judiciary continued: “On the other hand, these countries supported the terrorists who took the lives of more than 17 thousand innocent people, including women and children in Iran, and placed them in their lands. Aren’t these acts crimes against humanity”.
Gharibabadi emphasized that based on the available information and evidences, Iran's opponents had been looking for an excuse to create a crisis in the country since long before the start of the unrest in September of last year. He added: “Accordingly, in the shortest possible time after publishing the news of the death of an Iranian citizen, they entered the stage of creating waves of unrest and they started their project by taking over the advertising space”.
The Secretary-General of the HCHR expressed his regret that the so-called fact-finding commission lacked the minimum degree of independence and impartiality due to its basic dependence on some western countries, and stated that throughout the report of the commission, there is an impression of the role of foreign countries, foreign media and anti- Iranians, social networks and terrorist groups are not found in the creation and development of riots, whose documentation has been provided to human rights mechanisms through numerous reports.
Regretting that the so-called fact-finding mission lacked the minimum degree of independence and impartiality due to its basic dependence on some western countries, the Vice President of the Judiciary stated: “Throughout the report of the mission, there is no impression of the role of foreign countries, foreign and anti- Iranian media, social networks and terrorist groups in the creation and development of riots, whose documentation has been provided to human rights mechanisms through numerous reports”.
Referring to the report of the Special Committee on the Unrest of 2022, which was established by the President, he noted: “In this regard, the special committee to investigate the unrest of 2022, was established on May 17, 2022 by the Islamic Republic of Iran, with the aim of clarifying, investigating carefully and impartially and paying compensations”.
He added: “The report of this committee which has been submitted to the president 12 days ago declares that the Islamic Republic of Iran did not face peaceful gatherings last year, but many injuries to the law enforcement forces, heavy damages to private and public properties and places, organized riots, and the intervention and support of some foreign countries to rioters and their movements and vandalism indicate that Iran has faced full-scale riots”.
The Vice President of the Judiciary stated: “It is unfortunate that this mission has called itself fact-finding, but it deliberately ignores the violation of the rights of 79 people defending security and law enforcement forces who lost their lives as a result of the widespread violence of rioters and agitators and more than 7,000 law enforcement officers who were injured, and does not pay attention to more than 20,000 billion Rials of extensive financial losses to public and private places and properties.
He reminded: “Although the so-called fact-finding mission claims to have investigated the incident and discovered the truth, by publishing an undocumented and unprofessional report, it clearly showed that it had no mission and purpose except to cover up the truth and make it look upside down”.
Noting that the report of this mission is, in fact, a legitimization of baseless claims that have been raised repeatedly in the anti-Iranian media and from the platforms of some western governments and lacks any documentary sources, Gharibabadi clarified: “All this political game in the circumstances happened while the Islamic Republic of Iran took extensive measures to protect people's rights and based on responsibility, during the riots of 2022.
He reminded: “In this regard, the Special Committee established by the President confirmed in its findings the responsibility and security measures of the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran during last year's riots and announced that the relevant government bodies, including law enforcement and security agencies and the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran have acted responsibly in the face of the unrest of 2022.
As manifestations of this responsibility, the Secretary General of the HCHR also referred to the issuance of urgent and timely instructions to law enforcement and security agencies to control riots with the least amount of resorting to force and based on self-restraint the use of trained forces the judicial system's efforts to minimize the number of filed cases extensive amnesty for accused and related convicts, within the riots of 2022, in the framework of the Supreme Leader's amnesty decree handling public complaints about the behavior of law enforcers and judicial officers during the riots and dealing with offenders due to negligence or fault payment of financial damages and ransom to the survivors and heirs of the deceased payment of damages to the injured and victims of the riots of 2022 as well as the payment of damages to property and public and private places caused by the riots.
He pointed out that the report of the so-called fact-finding mission lacks legal and legal validity and is invalid, and the Islamic Republic of Iran completely rejects it.
In the end, Gharibabadi said: “By publishing an organized series of distortions of facts and lies, this mission, which was created by some western countries and with the money donated by them after the failure of the internal destabilization project in Iran, not only did not find the truth, but also distorted the facts purposefully to appear upside down.
