HCHR_Kazem Gharibabadi, the Vice-President of the Judiciary for International Affairs and the Secretary-General of the High Council for Human Rights, as the first speaker of the conference on "Our Revolution has always Existed, Companion for the Oppressed and Enemy for the Oppressors" held at Tehran University, while congratulating students on the day, stated: "The Al-Aqsa Storm not only overturned the infrastructure of the Zionism Regime, but it also created a huge storm, and that is to awaken human consciences in the matter of paying attention to the crimes of the Zionist Regime for seven decades.” He added: “Various experts, including Zionist experts and supporters of the Zionist Regime, emphasize the unprecedented nature of the Al-Aqsa Storm operation; this operation was completely Palestinian and based on their analysis of the situation.
Referring to the Supreme Leader's statements about the importance of the Al-Aqsa storm, Gharibabadi said: “The propaganda of the Zionist Regime for several decades about the intelligence organizations and the army of this regime sought to instill an unrealistic image of the power of the Zionist Regime, but the Al-Aqsa Storm destroyed this image and revealed the invincibility of the army and the inability of the intelligence agencies of the Zionist Regime.
Contrary to the claims of the Zionists and their supporters, the Secretary-General of the HCHR, called the high number of civilian martyrs in Gaza the cause of the scandal and dishonor of the Zionist Regime and not an achievement of this regime. He emphasized: “The four principles and propositions of the military doctrine of the Zionist Regime, including deterrence, warning, transfer of the battle to the threatening country's geography and the protection of the alleged residents of the Zionist Regime, failed and did not materialize during the past 2 months.”
On the consequences of the Al-Aqsa Storm for the Zionist Regime, Gharibabadi noted: “These consequences include the spread of the feeling of insecurity among the Zionist residents of the occupied lands, the occurrence of a wave of reverse migration, great damage to the economy of the Zionist Regime, creating an interruption in the process of normalizing relations with the Zionist Regime, and the huge opposition of public international opinion with the occupying regime of Quds.”
The Secretary-General also stated about the failure of the strategic goals of the Zionist Regime: “This regime failed in its three main strategies, namely, the destruction of Hamas and its military power, the control of the Gaza Strip, and the release of its prisoners through war; this is a big failure for the Zionist Regime. At the same time, the Palestinian Resistance Groups destroyed the security, intelligence and military hegemony of the Zionist Regime.”
The Vice-President of the Judiciary for International Affairs stressed that the roots of Al-Aqsa Storm operation should be sought not on October 7, 2023, but from 75 years ago. He added: “The Palestinian people under the Zionist occupation have been trying to reclaim their lands for 75 years, and the Zionist Regime as an occupier, does not deserve the right to self-defense, and it is the oppressed people of Palestine who must enjoy the right to self-defense. The situation in Palestine is one of occupation and aggression, and the Palestinians have been continuously defending and resisting for the past 75 years.”
Referring to the statistics related to the crimes committed by the Zionist Regime against Gaza in the past two months, Gharibabadi stated: “The crimes of the Zionist Regime have mainly targeted civilians, these are war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide and ethnic and racial cleansing.”
Gharibabadi went on to emphasize the judicial follow-up of the crimes of the Zionist Regime by international assemblies and courts such as the International Criminal Court, and added: “Organizations claiming human rights were content with presenting weak statements and showed that they are political tools of Western countries. The Security Council could not even issue a decisive resolution against the crimes of the Zionist Regime.”
Referring to the capacities for action in the Judiciary, on the crimes of the Zionist Regime, Gharibabadi noted: “Legal and judicial actions can be pursued at two or three levels. While the Palestinian government is not much active at the International Criminal Court, we tried to apply pressure through grassroots and internal groups. Also, with the cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we are filing a complaint against the Zionist Regime in the International Court of Justice. Moreover, lawyers and jurists have been mobilized to open cases against Zionist authorities in countries with universal jurisdiction. We filed a case against the Zionist Regime in the country with the follow-up of the Deputy of International Affairs in order to prevent the impunity of the crimes of the Zionist Regime.”
Gharibabadi emphasized the need to impose an embargo on the products of the Zionist Regime and demanded the action of the relevant institutions in this field. He added: “the Deputy for International Affairs of the Judiciary has asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to put the implementation of the resolution of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on the agenda and ask other Islamic countries to take action in this field.”
The Secretary-General of the HCHR noted: “We need coordination among Islamic countries to be more effective in our actions against the Zionist Regime.
In the end, he stated: “We expect Islamic countries to take practical and serious measures. Recent developments have shown that the holy Qods can still be the factor of cohesion and unification of Islamic countries, although we must stop the crimes of the Zionist Regime as soon as possible. We need practical proposals and serious solutions to stop these crimes.”
