While explaining some human rights issues and also condemning the criminal actions of the Zionist regime in occupied Palestine, which are the manifestation of human rights violations, the Vice-President of the Judiciary for International Affairs explained the position and role of the national media in informing and enlightening about the issue of human rights and said: “In its national and provincial networks, the national media should highlight the violation of human rights in the West, and make it clear to the people via explaining Islamic human rights.
HCHR_According to the report of the communication and information center of the Deputy for International Affairs of the Judiciary and the High Council for Human Rights, Kazem Gharibabadi, the Vice-President for International Affairs of the Judiciary and the Secretary-General of the High Council for Human Rights, at the brainstorming meeting of the National Media Cultural Council, which was attended by a group of managers and programmers of this organization, referred to the importance of human rights in the national programs and foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran and explained human rights from the perspective of Iran as an Islamic country.
Emphasizing on the belief that human rights are rooted in divine religions, Gharibabadi added: “In the political arena, we are not against human rights and its international mechanisms, but we are against politicization, instrumentalization, imposition of norms, and double standards in human rights”.
Referring to Broadcasting Organization membership in the Supreme Council of the High Council for Human Rights, the Vice-president of the Judiciary for International Affairs stated: “Since last year, the head of the Broadcasting Organization also joined this Council so that the media attachments of the related decisions become bolder and more transparent”.
Considering human rights as a complex and sensitive issue in many countries and recalling the dual behavior of Western countries in the face of human rights, including the issue of international and unilateral sanctions against Iran as well as the events of last year's fall, Gharibabadi noted: "Let's not forget that several Western countries under the pretext of violating the rights of women and children during the events of last fall in Iran, convened an urgent meeting of the Human Rights Council and created the so-called fact-finding mission, while they did not mention the violation of women's rights in their own territory. It has been proven to us that if the western countries do not hesitate to attack the Islamic Republic of Iran if they find an opportunity”.
The Secretary-General of the HCHR found the oral and initial report of the so-called fact-finding mission of the Human Rights Council in June to be without technical and legal basis, and while reviewing the background of the appointment of the experts of this mission and the biased and political report they presented, he said: “Iran announced at the same time that it will not recognize the "so-called Fact-Finding Mission". It was at the 53rd session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva that we announced that the establishment of a fact-finding mission by the Human Rights Council has no technical and legal basis and that Western countries, with the widespread violation of the rights of the Iranian people, do not have the jurisdiction to claim the protection of the rights of Iranian women and children”.
Noting the presence and role of the national media in clarifying this issue as well as increasing national support, Gharibabadi stated: “This incident is one of the cases that the Broadcasting Organization should enter into and by producing mixed or dialogue-oriented programs, reveal the goals and objectives of the Western countries and what they have behind the scenes of their seemingly compassionate behaviors”. He added “If there is an internal consensus in the field of human rights and we uncover the facts to public opinion with our focus on the protection and promotion of human rights internally, no threat in this field will affect us”.
While emphasizing the need for the abuse of human rights by the claimant countries to be clarified to the people, the Vice-President for International Affairs of the Judiciary, said: “There are many reports of human rights violations in European countries, and these countries widely violate the rights of women and children within their territories. However, they were looking for the formation of a fact-finding mission for Iran. The national media can air the reports of human rights violations happening in these countries in order to raise people's awareness, and on the other hand, it can show the achievements in the field of human rights and citizenship inside the country”.
He continued regarding the tragedies occurring in Gaza: “What is happening in Gaza today is a demonstration of human rights violations in the world and what is being done under the jurisdiction of international criminal law, is a crime against humanity, a war crime, genocide and racial and ethnic cleansing. According to the latest statistics, more than 40,000 people have been martyred and injured in the Gaza Strip. This is an indicator of crimes that occurred in less than 32 days. 100,000 people have been martyred in the land of Palestine within 75 years, and also 12,000 people in 30 days. Therefore, this crime is a huge crime committed by the Zionist regime in the Gaza Strip against the defenseless people of Palestine. So where are these human rights?”
While appreciating the performance of the national media on the issue of Gaza, Gharibabadi said: "On the issue of Gaza, the national media demonstrated the national consensus." He added: “The image of elite consensus and the presence of all political groups in the national media indicated that this crime is so deep that no one can ignore. The national media should highlight the violation of human rights in the West in its national and provincial networks and clarify on Islamic human rights.
The Secretary-General of the HCHR emphasized the need to stand againat the impunity of the Zionist regime officials at the global level, within the framework of the principle of criminal responsibility of individuals, and stated that a court must be established in this regard.
Referring to the filing of a criminal case against the crimes of the Zionist criminal leaders, the Secretary-General pointed out: “With the aim of prosecuting the criminal leaders of the Zionist occupying regime for committing crimes against humanity and to implement the law against the hostile actions of this regime against peace and security, approved by the Islamic Parliament in 2020, a criminal case was filed, for the first time, by the order of the Attorney General of the country at the General and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office of Tehran.” He added: “Other files will also be filed on the crimes of the leaders of this regime against the Iranian nation, such as the assassination of scientists and other terrorist and subversive acts.”
At the end, Gharibabadi considered the act of enlightening the national and international public opinion, as the most important cooperation between the national media and the HCHR of the I.R. of Iran and added: “In this regard, documentaries can be produced to emphasize not only on the crimes of the Zionist regime, but also to provide for legal and international tools to bring the criminals to the court.”
