The Secretary-General of the High Council for Human Rights of the I.R of Iran said in the opening session of the Specialized Human Rights Desk at the Broadcasting Organization news agency: “The biggest asset to confront the crime of the Zionist regime is the enlightenment of the international public opinion”.
HCHR_According to the report of the Deputy for Information and Communications of the Deputy for International Affairs of the Judiciary and the High Council for Human Rights, during a visit by Kazem Gharibabadi, Vice-President of the Judiciary for International Affairs and the Secretary-General of the High Council for Human Rights to the news agency of Broadcasting Organization, and with the presence of the Deputy for Political Affairs of the Broadcasting Organization, the Specialized Human Rights Desk, was opened.
With the establishment of this Desk and its specialized activities, human rights issues will be included in various radio and television programs with the approach of promoting Iran's human rights achievements, exploring Islamic human rights and examining the human rights situation in other countries.
On the side events of this program, in an interview by Broadcasting Organization news agency, severely criticizing the double standards of relevant international organizations, human rights organizations, the United States, and other human rights claimants, including Western countries, regarding the crimes of the Zionist regime of Israel, Gharibabadi stated: “The claimants of human rights, who frequently make so much fuss and controversy about small human rights issues in independent countries, are, now, not only silent about the crimes committed by the Zionists, but also support them”.
Referring to the great achievements of the Palestinian resistance groups in breaking the military, security and intelligence hegemony of the Zionist regime, he emphasized on the need to hold the Zionist regime accountable for many crimes committed in Gaza, including war crimes, genocide, ethnic and racial cleansing, and crimes against humanity.
Stating that the Zionist regime does not respect international law and human rights, The Vice-President of the Judiciary for International Affairs said: “Unfortunately, international and human rights organizations and countries claiming human rights, not only do not make an effort to hold this regime accountable, but the US and some western countries openly support the crimes of this regime”.
Emphasizing the urgency of stopping the crimes of the usurping Zionist regime, Gharibabadi pointed to the number of 100,000 Palestinian martyrs over the past 75 years and added that 9,000 martyrs in Gaza (more than 60% of whom are children and women) during the last three weeks, shows the severity of the terrible crimes of this criminal regime.
The Secretary-General pointed to the key role of the media in awareness-raising of the international public opinion, and considered the protest presence of people in all parts of the world, as a result of the strong and successful presence of the media. He also noted: “These crimes have been repeated many times during past 75 years, and the fact that the public opinion, are now well aware of the type and severity of the Zionists crimes, is due to the presence of the media at this stage. In fact the most precious wealth to deal with the crime of the Zionist regime is the enlightenment of the international public opinion”.
Gharibabadi further added: “We are trying to form a network of international lawyers and jurists to defend the Palestinian victims, so that they can file lawsuits against Zionist crimes in the courts of other countries”.
