The Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah has submitted an official note to the OIC secretariat to announce Iran’s readiness to host an emergency meeting of the foreign ministers of the organization on Palestine.

According to the official note, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian expressed his gratitude to Hissein Brahim Taha, the secretary general of the OIC over a Monday conversation they had on the brutal crimes of the Zionist regime against Palestinian civilians in the occupied Palestinian territories and the Gaza Strip.

“The foreign minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, while thanking Hissein Brahim Taha for his timely move in condemning these actions of the aforementioned regime and stating the responsibility of this apartheid and child-killing regime in this regard, highlighted the need for the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to immediately address this important matter at the highest possible level,” the note read.

During his conversation with Taha, Amirabdollahian voiced Iran’s readiness to host an extraordinary meeting of foreign ministers of the OIC regarding Palestine, calling for urgent action from all Islamic countries to help the Palestinian people.

The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas on Saturday launched Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, a surprise attack, in the occupied territories, saying the operation was a response to the regime’s violations at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East al-Quds.

The Zionist regime responded by carrying out deadly strikes on the densely populated Gaza Strip, killing at least 900 people.
