French government silences voices of opposition with violence: Gharibabadi

  • French government silences voices of opposition with violence: Gharibabadi

Head of Iran's Human Rights Headquarters and Deputy Chief of the Judiciary said: The French government violently silences the voices of opposition.

Kazem Gharibabadi, Head of Iran's Human Rights Headquarters and Deputy Chief of the Judiciary, wrote in a tweet: " France's heavy-handed crackdown on peaceful protesters proves the extent of its disregard for human rights."

Gharibabadi added: "The French govt. violently silences the voice of dissent. Double standards vis-à-vis human rights have taken a new turn or what?"

A 69-year-old gunman shot and killed three Kurdish people and wounded another in the center of Paris on Friday near a Kurdish cultural center.

The crime caused the anger of the Kurds community in France, and protesting Kurds held a large demonstration in Paris on Saturday.

The demonstration led to a clash between the security forces and the protesters, and the police fired tear gas to disperse the crowd.

Also, the Paris police chief announced the arrest of 11 people and the injury of more than 30 officers during Saturday's protests.

France's heavy-handed crackdown on peaceful protesters proves the extent of its disregard for human rights. The French govt. violently silences the voice of dissent. Double standards vis-à-vis human rights have taken a new turn or what?
