Mohammad Mehdi Hajmohammadi, the head of Iran’s Prisons Organization, tweeted on Sunday, 5 September 2021: “Thanks to my dear dentist brothers and sisters who were our guests for four days in South Khorasan prisons and provided the prisoners and their families with free visit, radiography, neurosurgery, tooth restoration and extraction services, worth 7 billion Rials».
Dental work are provided for prisoners but some need extensive dental work or are referred to a specialist for treatment. Therefore, some dentists have been volunteered to provide the services for free.
After going through verification procedures by Ministry of Health, these teams are allowed to provide dental work to the prisoners in different cities of Iran.
