Afghan artist: Art training is available for Afghans in Iran

  • Afghan artist: Art training is available for Afghans in Iran

The Afghan artist believes that his compatriot artists in Iran, if they want to pursue art and learn it, will face a favorable environment and usually Iranian artists welcome these people with kindness.

The multicultural, linguistic, intellectual and religious commonalities of Afghanistan and Iran have created an unparalleled capacity for the development of relations between the two countries, but for various reasons this capacity has not been properly employed. Even in recent years, due to various events, these communications have been challenged and not given as much attention as they should. Afghanistan has always been involved in war and foreign aggression over the past fourteen years, and as a result, its scientific and cultural production has been affected by war and cultural aggression.

Mohammad Mehdi Mirzaei, an Afghan artist, in an interview with IRNA cultural correspondent, explained why Iranian and Afghan artists do not cooperate despite the cultural background, historical and even linguistic proximity of the two nations. Iranian and Afghan artists have very good personal relations but when these relations become collective and large, they are not as they should be, and this issue is overshadowed by many issues such as the media, the political relations between the Iranian and Afghan governments, and the lack of media cooperation during these 40 years of migration of Afghan immigrants to Iran. .

He continued: "In my opinion, the activities of the media and propaganda that have been carried out in this regard since the beginning of the Islamic revolution have suffered from a kind of underemployment."

Even at the beginning of the Afghan emigration to Iran, admission to universities was very low and even at some point this education was prevented at times such as high school and university and even lower. As we have these problems today, even in some disciplines.

Mirzaei stated that if this relationship was really more open, the situation would definitely improve and it would not be like this.

Even today, if there is a good relationship, it is the result of these interpersonal relationships, Afghan calligrapher said.

Artists see the world in a different way, that is, in a beautiful and mystical way, and semantically describe and analyze phenomena; a way that is not necessarily in line with politics and politics should not be confused with this issue.

There should be a communication between our artists. The same relationship that I personally have with many top artists in this country is the result of this interaction and training that I have received from these friends, he added.

“This interaction must take place between artists especially for Afghans even if they do not come to Iran. This is directly related to the same media debate and the power of advertising that I mentioned”.

"We have already had examples of such artists from Iran going to Afghanistan and holding exhibitions. For example, professors such as Professor Mohammad Heydari (calligrapher) who have taught for a few months in one of the universities of Kabul or Professor Kaveh Teymouri (calligrapher) who have held exhibitions in Herat that have received a lot of attention.

Currently, there is an exhibition in the House of Artists and Afghan artists have been invited to participate in this exhibition, Mirazi continued.

"One of the basic problems was the issue of basic education, which, thank God, has been largely resolved today and has greatly improved in recent years."

He also said that it seems that the gaps and shortcomings that exist today are due to the immigrants themselves and their lack of work, who do not make good use of the opportunities created for them.

Anyone who wants to pursue art and learn it is faced with a favorable environment in Iran, and that Iranian artists welcome these people with kindness.

Mohammad Mehdi Mirzaei was born in 1974 in Ghazni province to an artist family. His grandfather was one of the most famous calligraphers in his hometown. He learned the art of calligraphy from his childhood and after migrating to Iran, he pursued it seriously and professionally. This immigrant artist is a law graduate of Kharazmi University. He also studied calligraphy with professors such as Hamid Ajami, Ismail Nikbakht and Mohammad Ali Ghorbani.
