  • Iranian women's sport moves ahead of IOC’s social justice indicators: Official

The Deputy Minister of Women's Sports Development to the Ministry of Sports and Youth stressed that under the existing circumstances, Iranian women's sports move ahead of the the IOC (International Olympic Committee) indicators on social justice.

A specialized meeting was held between the Deputy Minister of Women's Sports Development, the Vice President of the Women's Sports Federations and the Secretary of the High Council for Human of Iran   Tuesday evening in the Persian Hall of the National Olympic Academy.

 

Referring to the achievements of women's sports in the fields of management and sports after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the Deputy Minister of Women's Sports Development said that one of the important and different characteristics of women's sports in Iran is the management of sports in this sector by them.

 

Farhadizad also mentioned the development plans of the Ministry of Sports and Youth for this sector and added: "the results achieved by our country's female athletes in important international events are significant. The current state of women's sports is also ahead of the IOC indicators on social justice, which includes training of 110,000 coaches and 70,000 referees in the country, 88 managerial positions in sports boards and 755 sports boards in the city and the presence of female athletes and legionnaires with Islamic hijab.

 

The Deputy Minister of Sports and Youth explained the development plans for women's sports in 2020 and said that the outbreak of the corona virus has shut down sports in both the practical and theoretical parts. During this period, we tried to hold meetings with the provincial sports deputies and the vice president of the women's federations online and in person in limited numbers, she said.

 

In another part of her speech, Farhadizad pointed to the positive cultural consequences of the presence of women in sports and said that hijab and chastity of our girls in sports are their most important characteristics. Our girls in the international arena maintain their chastity and hijab in spite of a lot of propaganda, and they say out loud that I am a Muslim, which is the greatest achievement for us.
