The Vice President of the Judiciary for International Affairs and the ambassador of Russia in Iran emphasized on the expansion of cooperation in the legal and judicial field, especially in the fight against terrorism.
 

HCHR_Alexey Dedov, the Ambassador of Russia to Iran, met and talked with Kazem Gharibabadi, the Vice President of the Judiciary for International Affairs and the Secretary General of Iran's High Council for Human Rights.
 

In this meeting, Gharibabadi invited Russia to join the tripartite Judicial Committee on Fighting against Terrorism, composed of Iran, Iraq and Syria.
 

The Vice President of the Judiciary also pointed to the existing judicial cooperation between Iran and Russia in the areas of transfer of convicts, extradition of criminals and judicial assistance in criminal and civil matters, and emphasized the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to develop these kinds of cooperation and to exchange experiences.
 

Gharibabadi continued to criticize the instrumental use of human rights by the United States and some western countries and said: “There is good cooperation between Iran and Russia in the field of human rights at the bilateral and international level, and the parties are determined to confront political and discriminatory approaches in this area."
 

In this meeting, while welcoming the proposal of the Vice President of the Judiciary to develop the composition of the Joint Judicial Committee against Terrorism, the Russian Ambassador also emphasized Moscow's readiness to develop legal, judicial and human rights cooperation and to deal with unilateral sanctions.
