Gharibabadi: Western countries fraudulently and openly support the genocide and crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza and Rafah

  • Gharibabadi: Western countries fraudulently and openly support the genocide and crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza and Rafah

The Commemoration Ceremony of the Anniversary of the Islamic Human Rights and Human Dignity Day and the 8th Islamic Human Rights Award were held in Tehran on Sunday, August 4, 2024 with the presence of the Head of the Judiciary, the Secretary General of the High Council for Human Rights and the Vice President of the Judiciary for International Affairs, military and national officials of the country and the ambassadors of Islamic countries residing in Tehran.

In this ceremony, honoring the memory and name of martyrs of service and martyr Soleimani as real supporters of the Palestinian people, Kazem Gharibabadi expressed his condolences on the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh and added: “This year's Commemoration Ceremony of Islamic Human Rights and Human Dignity Day is a full reflection of the oppression of the Palestinian people. In this year's ceremony, we’d planned to honor the high-ranking martyr, the brave and outstanding leader, Mr. Ismail Haniyeh, for his years of struggle and valuable efforts in supporting the oppressed people of Palestine and the axis of resistance, for confronting the crimes of the Zionist regime, and for presenting more than eighty martyrs from his family members to preserve the revolutionary and anti-Zionist ideals, but before this ceremony, during a terrorist operation at the hands of the criminal Zionist regime, he was martyred. That’s the most valuable reward given to the Mujahidin who fight in the way of God and for the protection of honor and pride of Islam and the freedom of the holy Jerusalem.

The Secretary General of the High Council for Human Rights noted: “according to the Supreme Leader, although this incident made us sad, it provided the ground for a harsh punishment against the criminal and terrorist Zionist regime”.

He also stated: “16 years ago, the August 4th, the anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Islamic Human Rights, was designated as the Day of Islamic Human Rights and Human Dignity by the Islamic Republic of Iran at the initiative of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. The Declaration of Islamic Human Rights states that according to the Islamic Sharia, human rights are derived from the inherent dignity and value of human beings, and the Islamic Ummah has a global mission, and although humanity has reached advanced stages in material sciences, there is an urgent need for faith and spirituality to protect its rights and civilization”.

Human dignity and freedom have been widely attacked by unrealistic heralds of human rights

Gharibabadi continued: “Human dignity and freedom have been widely attacked by unrealistic heralds of human rights. The Western countries, who falsely claim human rights, openly support the genocide and crimes against humanity committed by the Zionist regime in Gaza and Rafah. The hypocrisy and ineffectiveness of the Western human rights discourse has been revealed to such an extent that in the U.S Congress, Netanyahu, the leader of the criminal and terrorist band of the Zionists, who have martyred and injured nearly 130 thousand innocent people, more than two-thirds of whom are children and women, is honored”.

He further said: “Human rights claimants have always tried to impose the liberal and secular values of their society on the world by ignoring the culture of other nations, including Muslim countries, under the guise of human rights. The spread of insulting religions and spreading hatred against the Muslim community and the government's support for these actions under the name of freedom of speech is a dangerous phenomenon the spread of which increases tension, hatred, Islamophobia, and violence against Muslims, and is a threat to peace and security and peaceful coexistence. It is also considered a threat to friendly relations between nations and followers of divine religions.

The Vice President of the Judiciary for International Affairs stressed: “It is clear that due to the unprincipled policies and positions of the countries claiming human rights, the human dignity of the present era has been threatened and damaged more than ever before. Cultural, political and economic domination, war and the killing of innocent people, especially civilians, the imposition of cruel sanctions by the domination system, support for terrorist groups, climatic and environmental hazards, and poverty are among the most important threats to global peace and stability and are increasing to the detriment of humanity.

Unity is the way to victory and elevation of the Islamic Ummah and the nations of the region

Gharibabadi reminded: “The continuation of the widespread and brutal crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza and Rafah and the repeated terrorist acts of this criminal and terrorist band in other countries and the all-round support of the governments claiming human rights for these crimes and the inability of the international human rights mechanisms to prevent these crimes, has brought about a fundamental challenge to the goal of achieving peace, justice, human rights and human security”.

He added: “Now, it is the time for the Muslim countries and the free people of the world, by appealing to the unifying goal of a free Palestine, to hold each other's hands and to share each other's pains, sorrows and threats more than before. Unity is the way of victory and elevation of the Islamic Ummah and the nations of the region. Just like the adoption of the Declaration of Islamic Human Rights, which was created as a result of unity and consensus”.

Regarding the selection of award winners, he further stated: “The 8th Islamic Human Rights Award is dedicated to the issue of supporting the oppressed people of Palestine, the Resistance Front and confronting the crimes of the Zionist regime. In this regard, among the 42 proposed candidates from 17 countries who were introduced to the Committee of Selecting the Islamic Human Rights Award, 6 people were selected as the final winners of the award”.
