  • Meqdad stressed the right of self-defense of Iran against the criminal actions of the Zionist regime

The Vice President of the Judiciary for International Affairs and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Syria emphasized Iran's right to self-defense against the criminal actions of the Zionist regime.

Kazem Gharibabadi, the Vice President of the Judiciary for International Affairs and the Secretary General of the High Council for Human Rights, who has traveled to Syria to participate in the meeting of the trilateral Joint Judicial Committee on Counter-terrorism as the head of a judicial delegation, met with Faisal Al-Meqdad, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of this country.

Faisal Al-Meqdad emphasized in this meeting that Syria stands by Iran against the continuous attacks of the Zionists and strongly condemns the treacherous invasion that targeted the Iranian consulate building in Damascus.

Al-Meqdad also emphasized Iran's right to defend itself against the barbaric actions of the occupying regime, which are in clear violation of international law, international humanitarian law, and the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. He seriously criticized the Western countries, especially the United States, which propagate the falsehood of what is registered as the international order based on principles.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Syria also welcomed and supported the existing cooperation between the judicial institutions of the two countries and the need for coordinated efforts to continue and strengthen this cooperation at all levels.

Pointing out the strategic relations between the two countries and the failure of the arrogant front's actions in advancing its goals against Syria, Gharibabadi announced the action of the Zionist regime in attacking the diplomatic facilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Damascus in clear contradiction with the principles of international law and the provisions of the Charter of Nations, and stating Iran's right to self-defense under the United Nations Charter, he strongly criticized the devious behavior and approaches of some Western countries and the U.S regime against this crime.

Noting that the three countries of Iran, Syria and Iraq are victims of terrorism, the Secretary General of the HCHR called the first meeting of the Trilateral Judicial Committee on Counter-terrorism of high importance and expressed hope that the terrorists who target the interests and security of the three countries and their supporters be prosecuted and tried with serious determination and justice should be executed against them.
