The Vice-President of the Judiciary for International Affairs and the Secretary-General of the High Council for Human Rights, while condoling the martyrdom of a group of compatriots in the terrorist incident in Kerman, announced: “The judicial case of this terrorist incident has been established, and as soon as the perpetrators are identified, judicial measures will be initiated”.
 

HCHR_On a conference on the legal and international dimensions of the assassination of General Soleimani, on Thursday, January 14, Kazem Gharibabadi, the Vice-President of the Judiciary for International Affairs and the Secretary-General of the High Council for Human Rights, during a trip to Golestan Province stated: “The Islamic Republic has always been a victim of terrorists and since the beginning of the Islamic revolution until now, more than 23,000 innocent Iranians have been martyred as a result of the assassination.”

Gharibabadi noted: “All the security, intelligence, military and judiciary agencies are determined to deal with terrorist attack”. He added: “Yesterday, the head of the Judiciary also issued an order to the officials of the judicial to follow up on this crime.”

Referring to the perpetrators of the terrorist incident in Kerman, the Vice-President of the Judiciary said: “It is almost clear who commits these malicious acts or who supports these terrorist groups. Certainly, the criminal actions of the perpetrators of this terrorist incident will not go unanswered.”

Referring to the trial of terrorist groups and their operatives and the execution of justice, Gharibabadi reiterated: “If the perpetrators of this terrorist incident are outside the country, and most of them are abroad, we will pursue the extradition of the perpetrators of this incident within the framework of judicial cooperation.”

He further emphasized that: “We will not stay silent unless the Justice is upheld. And this happens not only through the judicial system, but also different capacities are used to deal with terrorist groups, one of which is filing a court case.”

Gharibabadi added: “The relevant security and judicial agencies are trying to accurately identify the elements of this terrorist incident, and the result of the follow-up will be considered by the relevant judicial authorities.”

Pointing to the latest condition of judicial proceedings in the case of the assassination of General Soleimani, the Secretary-General of the HCHR stated: “The indictment of this case was sent to Tehran Judiciary in May and a special branch consisting of three judges was formed. All judicial formalities on the case have been completed and next week the date of the trial will be set.

Gharibabadi emphasized: “The investigations on the case of General Soleimani’s assassination has entered the stage of judicial proceedings, and the first court session will be held after the announcement in early May.”

He continued: “Considering that the assassination of General Soleimani and his companions took place in Iraq, we have a close relationship with the judicial system of this country, and our request to our friends in Iraq is to expedite the investigation of the case of the assassination of Martyr General Soleimani.”

He further noted: “The judicial system of Iraq promised us that they will prepare the indictment of the martyr Soleimani case and bring it to the court soon. Therefore, soon we will witness the holding of a trial for the criminals of the assassination of General Soleimani, in Iraq.”
