Iranian mother separated from son slams Danish government

  • Iranian mother separated from son slams Danish government

An Iranian mother who has been separated from her autistic child in Denmark says the Danish government has violated the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

In an interview with Iran’s High Council for Human Rights, Hamideh Salamati called on Iranian authorities to secure the return of her son, Dariush, to the arms of his family.

“In the case of Dariush, there is no abusive behavior or failure of the parents to maintain or raise the child, and even the laws of Denmark have not been observed in this case,” she said.

Given the fact that Dariush is not allowed to return to Iran, there are many violations of domestic and international laws in this case and other similar cases, she argued.

“The Danish government has violated the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child,” she added.

She also said that Dariush is Iranian and does not have Danish nationality.
