The repetition of the violation of the sanctity of the Holy Qur’an in Sweden and the permission given by the police of that country to the perpetrator can be viewed from several perspectives.
1. The Swedish police is regarded as one of the pillars of the government of that country, and therefore, the Swedish government is directly responsible for the desecration of the Qur’an and cannot acquit itself. In fact, the Swedish government must be held accountable to the Islamic world and Muslims, because the police only execute the orders of higher authorities.
2. The offensive action of the Swedish government has led to the unity of Muslims in the world, prompting Islamic countries to show their protest against the Swedish government. Of course, only holding protest rallies cannot be enough in response to this act of desecration, but Muslim countries should also stop all their economic cooperation with Sweden in a joint action and refrain from buying and selling goods from and to the country.
3. The issue of Muslim countries’ downgrading of political relations with the Swedish government should be taken into consideration, and in a coordinated action through the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Muslim countries should expel Swedish ambassadors and downgrade their ties with that country, or even suspend their political relations with Sweden.
4. Sweden must be asked to punish the perpetrator and not provide him with security. If Muslim countries coordinate and unite with each other to implement joint plans against Sweden, not only Sweden will withdraw from the continuation of such behavior, but the rest of the countries that are exposed to the Zionist regime’s provocations will see the heavy cost of violating the sanctity of the Qur’an more clearly and will not enter into these dangerous games.
5. It has been understood that Zionists around the globe are seeking to incite the Swedish government in relation to the violation of Islamic values, and this conspiracy is beyond that country. Therefore, all Muslims throughout the world should pay attention to this, identify the dubious goals behind this dangerous project, and take the necessary action.
6. The Islamic Republic of Iran, which has been a pioneer in defending Islam and religious and Islamic values, can be a pioneer in this incident as well. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs should invite the ambassadors of Muslim countries in Iran to discuss joint and united measures against offending countries and should ask them to take the necessary measures through their governments regarding diplomatic and legal dealings with the Swedish government.
In general, the Swedish government made itself hated by Islam and the Muslims of the Islamic world with this action, and this is a disgrace that will not be washed away soon. The protests of Islamic governments and nations against Sweden should continue to be a lesson for the government of that country and other countries that wish to insult religious and Islamic values.
