On its way to the final game, the Iranian team beat representatives from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE, and Oman and had only one defeat against the hosts Tatarstan.
In the final game, the Iranian team faced the hosts for a second time and although they finished 5-5 at the end of the match, it was Iran that eventually conceded defeat in the penalties.
Earlier in the day, Iran’s Men ice hockey national team also became runner-up in the tournament.
