A group of 100 migrants was apprehended while illegally climbing over a fence into the US and among them were seventeen Indian citizens. They attempted to cross over at a border post in California, according to authorities.

On Tuesday morning, around 2 am the San Diego Sector Border Patrol agents from the Imperial Beach Station apprehended the group of 100 migrants, consisting of citizens from Africa, Asia, and South America.

The US Customs and Border Protection agency stated that their agents encountered a large group of migrants illegally climbing over the fence, near the Border Field State Park. The group according to officials was mainly comprised of non-Spanish speaking migrants and they required extra resources for translation support. The group was then transported to a nearby station where they were medically evaluated and cleared by medical personnel.

The group was comprised of 79 single adults, 18 family unit members, and three unaccompanied juveniles. They were determined to be citizens from 12 countries, including Somalia (37), India (17), Afghanistan (6), Pakistan (4), and Brazil (3).
