Local Palestinian sources reported on Monday morning that a suicide drone targeted the emergency building of the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis.
According to the sources, after first responders approached the bodies of the martyrs, Israeli drones struck the same location again in order to prevent medics from evacuating the victims.
Palestinian sources stated that the main target of the attack was a group of Palestinian journalists. Palestinian media reported that Mohammad Salameh, cameraman for Al Jazeera; Maryam Abu Duqqa, journalist; Moaz Abu Taha, photojournalist; and Hossam al-Masri, photojournalist, were killed in the bombing of the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, Gaza. Hatem Omar, a Reuters photojournalist, was also critically injured in the head during the attack.
Minutes later, medical staff confirmed that the total number of people killed in the strike had risen to 15, four of whom were journalists.
Earlier this month, the Israeli regime killed two Al Jazeera journalists in an attack on tents where Palestinian reporters were stationed in Gaza.
The Gaza Government Media Office announced that following the killing of four media professionals in the Nasser Hospital attack, the number of slain journalists has risen to 244 since the beginning of the war.
In a statement, the office condemned the deliberate targeting, killing, and systematic assassination of Palestinian journalists by the Israeli occupation, describing it as part of the regime’s broader systematic crimes against civilian teams, aimed at concealing the truth and preventing the exposure of its crimes to the world.
This attack comes amid ongoing reports that the Israeli regime is systematically targeting aid distribution centers and residential areas, while blocking the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza—actions that have deepened the humanitarian crisis in the besieged enclave.
