Iranian women a driving force in society over the past four decades: HR official

  • Iranian women a driving force in society over the past four decades: HR official

Bagheri Kani said: “during the past four decades, Iranian women have been able to present a new perspective of effective and faithful role-playing to the international community and by presenting a new narrative of their practical emergence, they have become a driving force in the society”.

During the "International Conference on Political Science, Women's Studies and the Future" held on Thursday, the Secretary of the High Council for Human Rights referred to the aspects of female personality and said that as long as we do not reach a common definition for characteristics and aspects of personal identity of a woman, or at least do not figure the differences over the definition of a woman, the differences over the dimensions of women's rights will not end.

“Focusing only on "rights" without "responsibility" causes each side in society to employ different capacities to exercise their rights, and in this framework, power and influence play the decisive role in superiority. Therefore, instead of focusing on "enforcement of rights", one should focus on "fulfilling responsibilities" in order to achieve an enjoyable life instead of imposing a mechanical life on the individual and society”, the deputy of international affairs to the judiciary added.

He called the politicization of women issue the biggest scourge in the field of women's rights and said: "If we intend to bring an enjoyable life to women, we need to use political tools to protect their identities."

At the end, the Secretary of HCHR said that we should not allow the achievements of women's social character manifestation crystallized in the light of the Islamic Revolution to be lost in the political uproar of foreigners or some domestic actor’s unawareness.
