  • Judiciary official: "Participation System"; link between NGOs and judiciary to protect citizenship rights

Amin Hemtinejad said that launching a" participation system "is a step towards connecting and interacting as much as possible with the judiciary to promote and protect the rights of citizens.

In an interview with the High Council for Human Rights, the director of NGOs at the Social Affairs and Crime Prevention Deputy of the Judiciary discussed creating the executive mechanism of the "Participation System". This system was created following the order issued by Ayatollah Raeesi, and it is formed based on the registration of NGOs in this system which would lead to a large database on various issues, he said.

“Some of these issues include judicial policy-making, handling cases and lawsuits, monitoring laws, peace and reconciliation, crime prevention and re-socialization of prisoners. This mechanism also provides a platform for cooperation with organizations that are willing to cooperate with the judiciary”, Hematinejad added.

He pointed out that this database will be available to all deputies of the judiciary and organizations affiliated with the judiciary and if a charity or an NGO is willing to support Iranian prisoners abroad, would be able to announce its willingness though this system. The information of the mentioned NGOs will be provided to the High Council for Human Rights in order for the process of supporting our citizens to be facilitated.

Hematinejad also mentioned the role of the HCHR in better efficiency of this system and stated that the HCHR has had a good relationship with NGOs for a long time; therefore, it could have a key role in informing NGOs especially those operating at the international level.
