The sixth Festival of Islamic Human Rights and Human Dignity was held with the presence of Iran’s head of the judiciary as well as senior officials of Iraq, Syria, Pakistan, and Venezuela through video conference on Saturday.

Among advocates of the right to health, the late martyr, Dr. Seyed Bahram Tahmasebi, former director of Imam Khomeini hospital in Amol and former faculty member at the faculty of midwifery at Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences, was praised and commemorated for the heavy responsibility of running the hospital in March 2020 during the peak of coronavirus outbreak and his special approach towards treating patients.

Also, Dr. Ahmed Al-Mandhari, WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean was appreciated for the great endeavors he has made among the countries in the region and for providing medical care for refugees in Eastern Mediterranean especially in Syria, Yemen and Afghanistan.

Regarding public rights advocates, Mohammad Javad Heshmati Mohazzab, Director General of Tehran Judiciary, received an award for the services he has provided for the public including legal and judicial measures taken with respect to preventing changes in application of farming lands and gardens. 

Farzad Beheshti Tondari, the Deputy Assistant of Crime Prevention at Mashad Criminal Court and Khadijeh Sedighi, Manager of Shahid Gilasi Group were appreciated for the great efforts made with respect to judicial services and supportive measures provided for patients and children and also for creating jobs for poor families and women.

With respect to fighting against economic terrorism, Hamidreza Yahyazadeh, Alireza Rahnavard, Reza Vaziri, Ali Danaee Kenarsari and Mohsen Gohari, the crew on Iranian oil tankers to Venezuela, were appreciated for their valor and the successful mission they accomplished in the presence of the US fighter jets.

In this festival, Idriss El Djazairi, the late UN Human Rights Special Rapporteur on unilateral coercive measures was commemorated for the great efforts he had made with respect to the negative effects of the mentioned measures taken by the US regime against rights of nations including the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Also the award for the defenders of the oppressed (medal of Martyr Lenient General Soleimani), was jointly presented to" Abdul-Malik Badreddin al-Houthi, martyr Jamal Jafar Ebrahimi known as Aboomahdi Almohandes, the late Dr.Ramadan Abdollah, former secretary general of Palestine’s Islamic Jihad who were praised and commemorated for years of fighting against terrorism and resistance against criminals and violation of human rights.
