Dayfallah al-Shami, a member of Ansarullah movement’s political bureau, said over 15,000 civilians have been killed in Saudi Arabia's war on Yemen since it began in March 2015.

“Since the start of the Saudi-Emirati-American-led war on Yemen in 2015, 15,359 civilians have been martyred,” al-Shami said in a press conference on Monday, Yemen's al-Masirah television network reported.

He added that at least 24,000 Yemeni people have been also injured since then.

Noting that Yemen is witnessing deterioration of public services, food and medicine shortages and malnutrition crisis, the senior Houthi official said “more than 22 million Yemenis are in need of international aid”.

Al-Shami said Saudi Arabia's ground and air attacks on Yemen's residential areas have displaced 520,000 people both inside and outside Yemen.

Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition for more than three-and-a-half years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
