Final Declaration of the 2nd edition of anti-terrorism conference among the parliament speakers of Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkey, China and Russia titled 'Synergy for countering terrorism and consolidating regional cooperation', stressed the need for finding and cutting off the roots of terrorism, IRNA reported.

'We agreed that countering terrorism should not just be limited to the physical elimination of terrorists and terrorist organizations and networks, but the root causes and the conditions conducive to terrorism should be fully taken into consideration in countering terrorism,' the statement issued at the end of the conference said on Saturday.

The statement also voiced deep regret over the destructive impacts of terrorism on peace, security and development, stressing that terrorism should not be attributed to any religion, civilization, nation or ethnic group.

The participants in the conference also strongly condemned terrorist acts in Afghanistan, China, Pakistan, Russia, Turkey and Iran, including the last Thursday suicide blast in Southeastern Iran which killed two people.

The statement pointed to the recent achievements gained by defeating the ISIL in Iraq and Syria, and called for collective efforts to fight against the threat of terrorism in the regional states.

The Deceleration stressed 'the importance of multilateralism and strongly condemned all unilateral and extraterritorial laws and judicial orders of any country against the others which violate international law or the United Nations Charter and those that are in contradiction with sovereignty or territorial integrity of States and emphasized the need to jointly safeguard the rule-based international multilateral trading system, to enhance the level of opening-up at both multilateral and bilateral levels so that we could make our economies interconnected and build an open world economy.'

Tehran Declaration underscored the central role of the UN in facilitating international cooperation in preventing and countering terrorism and extremism and emphasizing the need for all actions to be conducted in accordance with international law and principles of the UN Charter.
