Iranian foreign ministry on Sun. hosted Norwegian, Sweden and Danish envoys to clarify Iran’s position on the recent attack on a military parade in Ahvaz carried out by terrorists with links to these European countries.

According to the Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi, the department for European affairs of the ministry invited the ambassadors of Norway and Sweden, as well as charge d'affaires of Denmark on Sunday, following the recent terrorist attack in Ahvaz and Iran’s strong protest to Denmark, Sweden, Norway and the Netherlands for sheltering the perpetrators who have officially claimed responsibility for the attack.

The Ahvaz attack claimed the lives of 24 people, carried out by the al-Ahvaziya terror group, whose recruits are believed to be scattered in several European countries, including in the Netherlands and in Denmark.

Ghasemi added that during the meeting, the director general of the department for European affairs also rejected the accusations against Iran, raised by the Israeli regime through crude and clumsy made-up scenarios that the Islamic Republic had been involved in a supposed assassination plot in Denmark.

The department noted the responsibility of these countries toward terrorism and the unacceptability of sheltering the perpetrators of Ahvaz terror attack.

According to Ghasemi, Iran also voiced its readiness for comprehensive security cooperation with these countries and carrying out joint operations for discovering the truth.

Iran’s readiness for joint cooperation for identification of terrorist agents sheltered in Europe had been already discussed with the Dutch ambassador, as well as during telephone conversations between Iran’s FM Zarif and counterparts from Germany, France, Norway, Sweden and Denmark, Ghasemi added.
