Mansoureh Karami, Vice President of the Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism (ADVT NGO) recounted on the NGO’s presence on the sidelines of the 37th annual session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva saying “this year, our activities revolved around defending rights of children who are victims of terrorism.”
“We are fully aware that when terror occurs, a large number of children are martyred or they suffer a lot of mental and psychological damages,” she observed.
The deputy chairman of the ADVT NGO said the crystal clear fact is that that children are the most defenseless members of the society and that they need more support and care.
“We are here in Geneva to ask NGOs and the United Nations to pay more attention to these children,” underlined Karami saying “all countries in the world need to join hands in order to eliminate terrorism.”
She went on to stress that terrorism is no longer specific to a country or a particular region. We cannot say, for instance, it is unique to the Middle East. As the media has spread, terrorism has also progressed and has become epidemic; therefore, terrorism cannot be stopped unless the whole world is determine do put an end to it, and so, in order to help children, we must certainly stop the spread of terrorism.
The wife of martyred Iranian nuclear scientist Dr. Ali Mohammadi further asserted that she felt bad about being present at a session attended by those in charge of her husband’s assassination; “nevertheless, what matters to me is to express my views while facing them and I will spare no effort to prove to the world that they are criminals.”
At the end of her remarks, the official said the important issue is to defend the blood of 17,000 victims of terror.
