In a letter to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Vice President of the Judiciary for International Affairs called for the acceleration and special follow-up of the extradition of the fugitive fraudster from the UAE to Iran.
 

HCHR_The Vice President of the Judiciary for International Affairs and the Secretary General of the High Council for Human Rights, Kazem Gharibabadi, in a letter to the foreign minister, requested the acceleration and special follow-up of the extradition of Behnam Najafi who is accused of organized fraud in buying and selling large-scale remittances of cars.

In this letter, referring to the increase in the number of Najafi plaintiffs, Gharibabadi said: “the accused has committed fraud of nearly 10 thousand billion Rials, and 1284 people have filed complaints against him and the network related to him until May 2023”.

The Vice President of the Judiciary for International Affairs continued: “The accused has managed to obtain temporary residence through the registration of a fake company in the UAE, and 18 of his partners and deputies who have not managed to flee the country so far have been arrested”.

Gharibabadi further pointed out the importance of this case and emphasized: “The issue of the extradition of this accused, who is said to be in custody, due to the high number of plaintiffs and property losers and the effects that his criminal behavior has had on the psychological security of society, needs special follow-up”.

He requested the Minister of Foreign Affairs to use the necessary and special capacities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in this regard, to take immediate and serious action to extradite this fraudster and bring him to justice”.
