The Secretary-General of the High Council for Human Rights of the Islamic Republic of Iran paid a visit to the Exhibition on Iranian Civilization and Women’s Clothing in Geneva.

Dr. Kazem Gharibabadi, who traveled to Geneva as the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s delegation to participate in the 53rd session of the Human Rights Council, visited the Exhibition on Iranian Civilization and Women’s Clothing, entitled: “A Thousand Tales of Iranian Attire”, which was held at the UN headquarters in Geneva.

Honoring the people involved in setting up the exhibition, Gharibabadi emphasized: “The luxurious products put on sale in this exhibition show the capabilities of Iranian women to the world community.”

He emphasized: “The Islamic Republic of Iran, inspired by the religion of Islam, attaches great importance to women and has achieved remarkable progress in this field after the Islamic Revolution.”

Gharibabadi touched upon women’s critical and influential position in Iran and stressed: Women in the Islamic Republic of Iran play a significant role in various political, economic, social, cultural, and other fields.

He emphasized the strengthening of cultural diplomacy and added: “Unfortunately, the West is seeking to impose its standards on other cultures and ignore the cultural differences of nations.”

The Vice-Presidency of the Judiciary for International Affairs noted: Making up half of the country’s human capital, women play a vital role in the realization of the general policies of the Establishment, including resistance economy, health and food security, science, and technology, and also in the completion of the Iranian-Islamic lifestyle and the Islamic-Iranian model of progress.

Simultaneously with the 53rd session of the Human Rights Council, the Exhibition on Iranian Civilization and Women’s Clothing has been organized with the cooperation of the Permanent Representation of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Geneva, the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, and a number of female artists active in the field of clothing design.

Dubbed “A Thousand Tales of Iranian Attire”, the exhibition is open until July 14 at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva.
