Chief Justice of Iran,and the head of Iraq's Supreme Judicial Council, inked two memorandum of understandings on legal and judicial cooperation on Tuesday.
Chief Justice of Iran, Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei and the head of Iraq's Supreme Judicial Council, Faegh Zeidan inked two memorandum of understandings on legal and judicial cooperation on Tuesday.

Heading a high-ranking judicial delegation, Faegh Zeidan arrived in Tehran today.

At a meeting with Faegh Zeidan, Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei said, “The relations between Iran and Iraq are beyond the neighborhood issues. In recent years, we have witnessed extensive cooperation between Iran and Iraq in terms of judicial, cultural, political, security and economic aspects; In the meantime, the role of judicial institutions of the two countries in developing these broad relations is prominent and effective”.

“In the past years, good agreements have been concluded between the judicial systems of the two countries but the implementation of these agreements requires more efforts,” he added.

The head of Iraq's Supreme Judicial Council, for his part, said, “The MoUs that have been signed today with the aim of developing and deepening legal and judicial cooperation between Iran and Iraq will strengthen and consolidate previous agreements between the judicial systems of the two countries”.
