During the World Meeting of Ministers of Education, Mohsen Haji Mirzaei, the Minister of Education said that annually more than 550,000 foreign national children from about 30 countries receive formal education just like Iranian students. He described the activities of the Ministry of Education in establishing a happy network and using new educational technologies during the pandemic, creating equal access to education for all children and adolescents.

He stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran considers education as a fundamental right of all children and adolescents, so all planning and policies are made to provide resources and ensure equal access for all children and adolescents. In this regard, more than 99% of children have access to primary education.

 

"Before the outbreak of Covid 19, the Islamic Republic of Iran, through various means such as approving and following up the implementation of the Law on the Protection of Children and Adolescents and following the ban on child labor, blocked their departure from the formal education cycle.

 

According to the Information and Public Relations Center of the Ministry of Education, referring to the efforts made by the Islamic Republic of Iran in providing education for all children during the pandemic, he said appropriate learning packages and textbooks have been provided for those children who do not have access to e-learning, and through the creation and development of organized inter-sectoral partnerships with the participation of all supportive institutions, children outside of the formal education environment are identified and are put informal education cycle. Equally, this partnership includes marginalized children, foreign nationals and asylum seekers, and annually more than 550,000 foreign national children from about 30 countries receive formal education just like Iranian students.
