Mentioning that Iranian women athletes showed the power of the Iranian nation to the enemies by shining on the world championship platforms, Ali Bagheri Kani said that the High Council for Human will use all its capacities to remove foreign obstacles to the international presence of women athletes.

In a special meeting held by Women's Sports Development Deputies and the Vice President of Women's Sports Federations", while paying tribute to the responsibility and efforts of women sports managers, the Secretary of the High Council for Human Rights said that women operate in the international arena and play a key role in raising the flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the international arena.

 

He said that for more than 40 years, our enemies have sought to hinder the progress of our nation in various fields by imposing sanctions, adding that Iranian women athletes shone on the world championship podiums to show the power of the Iranian nation to the enemies."

Referring to the strategy of separation between ideals, individual and national goals as one of the most important tricks of the enemy against the Iranian nation, the Deputy of International Affairs to the Judiciary stated that the enemy should not be allowed to create a gap between the individual identity and the identity of the Iranian nation.

 

Pointing out that the identity of the Iranian nation includes three identities: Islamic, revolutionary and national, Bagheri Kani said that officials, including agents in the field of sports management and coaching, in addition to providing hardware facilities for athletes, should strengthen the athletes' morale. The seedlings of hope should work in them, and therefore the alignment and synergy of individual identity and the identity of the Iranian nation among athletes should be on the agenda as the most important software strategy.

 

 

 

 

Emphasizing that your mission is not just for women athletes and sports managers, he said: “your main mission, which has been able to bring these miracles to the forefront in the field of sports, is to convey this strategic vision and this transcendent effort to the young generation."

 

The HCHR Secretary also said that as the human rights council, we will work to remove the legal and even non-legal barriers that exist in the international arena and prevent our girls from winning.

 

Bagheri Kani called for more participation of medalists present at the meeting in the direction of convergence, national interaction and cohesion and resolving society's issues, and stressed that women prisoners are our compatriots and need help to re-socialize and return to society, so more is expected."

 

In this ceremony, a number of women athletes, medalists and coaches of various sport disciplines, as well as some vice presidents of women sports federations spoke about their sports activities and five Iranian athletes were honored by the Secretary of the High Council for Human Rights.

 

Farshid Tahmasebi, Director General of International Affairs to the Ministry of Sports and Youth praised the performance of women's sports and said: "Our women have the ability to win international seats."

 Referring to the ability and influence of Iranian women in important and international sports arenas, Tahmesebi said that fortunately, Iranian women have been able to achieve significant achievements in various sports.

 

Also,  "Zahra Nemati", the flag holder of Iran in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games said: "I am happy that my achievements were observed and seen beautifully not only in the field of sports but also outside the field of sports." This honor does not belong only to me, but also to the women of our country, who all contribute to these successes.

 

"Zahra Nemati also has other activities, including being an ambassador for sustainable development goals and working in associations to support spinal cord injury and cancer patients", she added.

Nemati acknowledged that our women and girls can achieve great successes if they believe in their abilities. We need to set an example for different women in society to empower them through skills training to move in the direction of a society that believes in equal rights, she added.

 

 Ashraf Amini, the acting vice president to the Women's Karate Federation, stated that our women athletes were able to win medals with hijab, and this was not easily achieved, because their hijab was strongly objected.

 

Zohreh Heratian, a member of the Medical Committee of the Asian Football Confederation, another speaker present at the meeting, said that in order for the women of our country to reach this stage and be able to shine in different world arenas, the youth of this land have sacrificed their lives for security.

Shahla Behroozirad, a member of the Iranian Rowing Federation and a national Paralympics champion, continued the meeting by stating that with the support of Iranian women, we have been able to shine in various sports and the raising of our country's flag is a national pride for all of us.

 

Mansoura Gorji, Vice President of Mountaineering stressed the countless achievements of women's sports for our country and said: "We have shown the world that sports with hijab not cumbersome and it has even provided the advancement of women in various fields.

 

Hamideh Abbasali, the first champion and medalist of the Iranian Olympic karate lady, said: “I will do my best to promote the position of women in the field of sports so that I can bring great honors to my country and the people of Iran. Iranian women deserve the best”.

 

During this ceremony, many supervisors, champions and medalists of different federations, including shooting, football, swimming, boating, fencing, tennis, wushu, basketball, as well as the vice president for the visually-impaired and women with disabilities presented their views and demands.
