Prevalence of genocide and torture in MKO terrorist group: Witnesses

  • Prevalence of genocide and torture in MKO terrorist group: Witnesses

In the second session of the court hearing the lawsuit filed by four former members of the terrorist group MKO, one of the plaintiffs said: “I went to Turkey to find a job in 1996 when I was kidnapped by members of the MKO. They were wandering in the mountains after the US invasion to Iraq.

The second session of the court hearing over the lawsuit filed by 42 former members of the terrorist group MKO was held under the chairmanship of Judge Pourmoridi.

Mohammad Rasha Shamsi, one of the plaintiffs in this case said: I went to Turkey in 1996 to find a job, but I was kidnapped by members of the MKO. They were wandering in the mountains after the US invasion of Iraq .I was imprisoned twice; I protested several times but I was tortured.

Then, Nader Chapchap, another plaintiff in the case, stood up and said: "I thank the court for giving me this opportunity to defend my rights." During the four years I was in the group, I suffered a lot of injuries.

"I was deceived and taken from Turkey to Iraq illegally," he said. My toenails were pulled out without anesthesia and I was forced to take part in military service and organizational work, which caused an infection in my feet.

"Everyone came to work and unanimously put hats on all of us," he said. When we were given military uniforms at Ashraf, we said we did not come for the war. Their main message when we said we would not stay was that our entry into Iraq was illegal and that we would be imprisoned for three to six years. After the Iraqi invasion, we managed to escape to the American camp, but they were in the same bowl with the MKO, and we were in the American camp for four and a half years.

All the other victims described brutal torture inflicted by the MKO on members which indicates the inhumane nature of this terrorist group.

"In sectarian relations, the lower classes could not ask questions, and in some cases it was a red line, and we had no right to ask questions, and we were merely carrying out orders," a former member said to the court. I was wounded in Operation Mursad and I was wounded, but they refused to give me my clothes when I went to the American camp, he added.

Alizadeh, a former member of the MKO stated: "All the statements made in court are true and I am ready to testify in all courts." The average age of people in the Albanian camp is 4 to 6 years old, and it is about two thousand people. I hope that this trial will not end here and that the Rajavi sect will be condemned in the international arena. I have heard that he is very afraid of international courts.

Following the court hearing, Leila Kyokan, another plaintiff in this case, while taking the stand, said: "In a situation where I was not more than two years old, my father left us and joined the sect, and like all members who are here, he was negatively affected by the sect's lies."  Over the course of forty years, I made several attempts to meet him or talk to him on the phone. As someone who lost my father as a child and did not even hear his voice, my question to human rights organizations is why they do not fulfill their legal duties and do not deal with them.

In this part of the court session, Judge Pourmoridi stated that the lawsuit which has been filed raised is the beginning of the way for the judiciary and the court.
