Iranian judiciary and human rights mission continued the second round of their meeting with Swiss officials in Bern as Abbas Araghchi, Iranian FM political deputy joined the team.

The Swiss delegation explained the Swiss judicial mechanisms with respect to the juvenile criminal justice and the activities of correctional centers in Swiss Cantons.

The Swiss delegation also welcomed the Iranian amnesty system which occasionally pardons or commutes prison terms to tens of thousands of convicts every year as well as out-of-court settlement, calling for technical and professional judiciary cooperation between Tehran and Zurich.

On the side lines of the meetings held at the Swiss ministry of foreign affairs, the Iranian delegation welcomed the Swiss delegation's suggestion about an agreement on technical and judicial cooperation between the HCHR and the Swiss judiciary so that the two countries would exchange their human rights related experiences.

The two sides agreed to follow the cooperation based on the agreements and pave the path for more academic ties. Further negotiations are set to be held in Tehran soon.

Abbas Araghchi, the political deputy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran and his Swiss counterpart also attended the meeting.
