Another brutal attack on the civilian areas in Yemen, including schools, by the US-Saudi coalition have killed and injured innocent civilians, mostly little girls.
Alike previous crimes of the Saudi coalition, this heartbreaking tragedy would not have occurred without the support of some western countries who also claim to be advocates for human rights.
As the massacre of defenseless civilians in Yemen goes on, the world community is facing not only a meaningful silence of some western countries including US, UK and France but also their rivalry in arms sale to Saudi Arabia and its partners. However, based on the UN Monitoring and Reporting Mechanism (2005), attacks on schools are recognized as one of the six grave violations of children's rights in situations of armed conflict.
Echoing criticism of UN, UNSC, UNHRC and other international organizations due to their weak reaction to the recent mass violation of human rights and international humanitarian law in the west of Asia- including US crimes particularly against Afghan and Iraqi women and children as well as mass murder of Palestinian and Lebanese civilians by the Zionist regime of Israel-; Islamic Republic of Iran considers the recent attack as a serious breach of Charter of the United Nations, international law, international humanitarian law, various resolutions of UNGA and UNSC as well as UNICEF and UNESCO.
Massacre of Yemeni children is also a serious breach of Article 48, 51, 52, 77, 85 of the First Additional Protocol of Geneva Convention on protecting the civic area, Article 3 and 4 of the second Additional Protocol, Article 94 and 147 of the convention, and the Resolutions (2225, 2143, 2068, 1998) of the United Nation Security Council which condemn attacks against schools in armed conflicts and recognize it as war crimes.
Iran's High Council for Human Rights encourages all members of the world community as well as NGOs to condemn the perpetrator of this crime and provide aid and assistance to the people of Yemen. Iran also calls on the Secretary General of UN, UNSC and all humanitarian organizations as well as United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to take legal actions and introduce the perpetrator of this horrifying crime to the world.
