Mohammad Javad Larijani, Secretary of the High Council for Human Rights of the Islamic Republic of Iran made the remarks in response to the strikes on Syria by the United States and its two European allies. He underlined that the attack made by the US, the UK and France could be viewed and analyzed from various respects.
“One issue is that the invasion was a sign of the great defeat suffered by Western countries’ terror policies thanks to efforts made by the Resistance Front,” the official continued.
“The recent aggression shows that the Resistance has successfully managed to destroy roots of terrorism as a US strategy pursued in the past decade in the form of ISIL.”
“The invasion reveals that the United States is furious about these failures and has been left with no other choice after suffering a chain of defeats specially in East Ghouta where the Resistance gained the upper hand,” Larijani stressed.
Iran’s Human Rights chief went on to reiterate that the Resistance has made key and remarkable achievements.
The official said the second issue is that the real nature of ISIL and other terrorist groups was unveiled as a result of the West’s aggression against Damascus; “aggressors themselves have created terrorist and felt obliged to assist them in some way.”
“The move was obviously an indication to the fact that terrorist operations are being guided, led and supported inside the region,” he noted.
Mohammad Javad Larijani said the third issue was that the United States and European governments were not complying with international obligations. “Of course, we were already aware of their lack of commitment and we had observed. Yet, recent moves reveal that we should never put our trust in them nor should we believe their promises.”
Larijani said the last point was that the path of Resistance must continue at full strength. “The strategy of resistance has brought us significant achievements and is promising of bright futures.”
At the end of his remarks, Head of Iran’s HCHR Mohammad Javad Larijani said what the US gained through its attack on five sports in the war-stricken country of Syria was nothing as compared to the huge victory of Resistance over ISIL terrorists who received big funds from Saudi Arabia and were supported by certain Western countries.
