In an interview with local media, Qasemi stressed that Nazanin Zaghari Ratcliffe is serving her prison after she was found guilty in the trial.
Richard Ratcliffe, Mrs Zaghari Ratcliffe's husband, recently claimed that an Iranian judge told his wife that her release is dependent on the interest the UK owes and that Iranian foreign ministry is currently in talks with the UK government over finalizing the sum to be paid.
Foreign Ministry spokesman rejected the claims and called them "baseless speculations."
For months it was claimed that Nazanin is a British-Iranian charity worker who went to see her family, while last November, UK Foreign Secretary revealed to a parliamentary select committee that she was teaching people journalism.
His statement showed that Nazanin had visited the country for anything but a holiday; however, under the domestic pressure he was forced to take back his words and apologize.
