The Vice President of the Judiciary for International Affairs and the Secretary General of the High Council for Human Rights of the Islamic Republic of Iran met with the Head of the Syrian Parliament.
 

HCHR_ Kazem Gharibabadi, Vice President of the Judiciary for International Affairs and the Secretary General of the I.R HCHR, who has traveled to Syria at the head of a judicial delegation to participate in the meeting of the Trilateral Joint Judicial Committee on Counter-terrorism, met with the Head of the Syrian Parliament, Hammouda Sabbagh. 

In this meeting, referring to the visit of the judicial board of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Syria for the development and legal and judicial cooperation between the two countries, as well as the development of cooperation to combat against terrorism through the Joint Trilateral Committee between Iran, Syria and Iraq, Gharibabadi said: “The country is a victim of terrorism and terrorist acts”. In the meeting with the Head of the Syrian Parliament, a report of the first Joint Committee was presented.





Referring to the overview of the strategic relations between the two countries and recent developments, Gharibabadi added: “Iran-Syria relations are strategic and very friendly; Enemies and the Arrogant Front failed to carry out their plans despite making use of all their capacity”.

The Vice President of the Judiciary continued: “In this meeting, the criminal and cowardly attack of the Zionist regime against diplomatic places was discussed and it was emphasized that the action of the occupying regime is completely contrary to the obligations and principles of international law and the United Nations Charter, and Iran's response to the Israeli regime was done in full accordance with the principles of the United Nations Charter within the framework of the right to self-defense”.

The Secretary General of the HCHR also stated: “In this meeting, it was emphasized that the Western countries and the United States should stop their dual and discriminatory policies towards these issues. Unfortunately, instead of condemning these crimes, they continue to support the Zionist regime”.

It should be noted that during his visit to Syria, Gharibabadi also had separate meetings with the Secretary of the National Security Council and the President Adviser in National Security, to discuss and examine the issue of dealing with terrorist groups and their supporters”.
